1st Corporate League in Germany starts June 1 in Stuttgart
After the successful completion of 4 corporate local tournaments in 2012 followed by 2 tournaments in 2011, Stuttgart Cricket Eagles e.V. is now pushing the concept of corporate cricket to the next level. In 2013, the planned corporate league invites 8 corporate teams not only from Stuttgart area, but also from all corners of Germany. With the growing number of IT experts and engineers from India and south Asia is creating a great opportunity for cricket being spread in the high tech German companies. In the tournaments organized in 2011 and 2012, lot of companies like Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, Prion from Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Ulm, Nürnberg took part in this soft ball game concept. With many of the expats having less time to practice with leather balls or less opportunity to find proper ground for cricket ball are reasons behind making the soft ball tournament more and more popular. Leonberg – Hätte man nicht gewusst, dass es sich bei dem, was die sportlich gekleideten Herren da betreiben, um eine englische Sportart handelt, spätestens ein Blick ins Regelwerk wäre vieles klar geworden. „Jede Regenunterbrechung“, heißt es in den Turnierbestimmungen der Cricket Eagles, „wird als Unentschieden gewertet.“ Verständlich: Glaubt man den Klischees, kämpft kein Volk so sehr mit den Tücken der nassen Witterung wie die Engländer.
Gymnasium Korntal rocked with 3 days Cricket Workshop
A three days cricket workshop, organized by the Stuttgart Cricket Eagles e.V. and the Korntal Gymnasium, duly funded by the DCB, was held from 18th to 20th July at the school premises. First Bodensee Cup Cricket Tournament 2012
18th February, Weingarten. Six teams from three different clubs gathered up on a cold winter day for the first ever Bodensee Cup Indoor Tournament. It was a tournament that was organized using the popular social network Facebook where the clubs met each other on the virtual world and turned up finally for a tournament after weeks of planning. The Stuttgart Eagles drove 200 km along with the Laupheim Lions, a corporate team near Ulm who took a journey by train through the black forest to reach Weingarten at 9:30 am where 20 cricket enthusiastic Oberschwaben Cricket Club members from Ravensburg and Weingarten welcomed them to a well organized 6-a-side tournament. “Cricket – nur ein Spiel oder doch MEHR?” aus Bosch Newsletter
BOSCH After-Work-Workshop mit Stuttgart Cricket Eagles e.V.
Anlass war der Gewinn des 10. ICC Cricket Weltmeisterschaft durch das indische Team – nach langen 28 Jahren! Der ICC Cricket World Cup fand vom 19. Februar bis zum 02. April 2011 in Bangladesch, Indien und Sri Lanka statt und das indische Team gewann die begehrte Trophäe im Finale gegen Sri Lanka mit 6 Wickets!
Ziel der Workshops war, das Geheimnis von über 500 Millionen Cricket-begeisterten Indern zu lüften und die „Kompetenz: Cricket“ (Augenzwinkern!!!) aufzubauen. Angeboten wurden 2 Termine – jeweils einer in Feuerbach und einer in Schwieberdingen, um allen Mitarbeitern, besonders auch den indischen Kollegen, eine Teilnahme zu ermöglichen.
