ICC Weltcup-Trophy kommt nach Deutschland

Am 17. Februar ist es soweit – Die Trophäe des Cricket Weltverbandes ICC kommt nach Berlin. Dort wird sie den Botschaftern des teilnehmenden Länder präsentiert, bevor sie ihre Reise nach Dresden zum Dresden International Indoor Turnier aufnimmt.

ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour reaches Germany
It is only a few months until the eagerly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup takes place in England and Wales. As a part of the run up to this huge global sporting event the ICC World Cup Trophy has been travelling around the world, visiting five continents, over 20 countries and over 60 cities. The tour hasbeen in conjunction with ICC’s sponsors Nissan.The last leg before reaching England and Wales is a visit to Germany on 17th February.
In the morning at a private event in Berlin, the trophy will be presented to the ambassadors of the ten competing nations before taking the short two-hour journey to Dresden where players and fans at the Dresden International Indoor Tournament will have the opportunity to see and have their photos taken with the trophy.Ed Shuttleworth, the ICC Regional Development Manager for Europe said, “The ICC are proud to take the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour driven by Nissan to Germany. The growth of the game in Germany is remarkable and their potential should excite all cricket fans.” DCB CEO Brian Mantle said “The DCB is proud to be able to give its members this opportunity in Dresden at one of the biggest indoor events in Europe, if not the biggest. Our thanks go to Rugby Cricket Dresden e.V. who host the event and Shahnawaz Ahmad of the Ostdeutscher Cricket Verband for helping with the organisation.”
