Cricket in the Fußgängerzone – Sterne Nacht Erlangen

The Erlangen Cricket Club e.V. was invited to introduce cricket at the yearly ‘Sterne Nacht’ in Erlangen. The organisers of this event are the Stadt Erlangen, BLSV and BSJ (Bayerische Sport Jugend). The event includes many different attractions including shopping till midnight. Subair Ramanullah leads North Germany to success in first ever DCB Under 15 Championships

Saturday 11th May saw youth cricket development in Germany take another great stride as the first games in the first ever DCB Under 15 County Championship took place at the HSV ground in Hamburg between NDCV (North Germany) and NRW.

This tournament is part of the DCB’s Youth Retention Programme that is supported financially by ICC Europe as a means to getting as much hard-ball cricket being played in Germany at as young an age as possible. Following last year’s introduction of an Under 19 programme, we are now in a position to hold national tournaments at two age group levels for the best players at the respective age groups. 1st Corporate League in Germany starts June 1 in Stuttgart

After the successful completion of 4 corporate local tournaments in 2012 followed by 2 tournaments in 2011, Stuttgart Cricket Eagles e.V. is now pushing the concept of corporate cricket to the next level. In 2013, the planned corporate league invites 8 corporate teams not only from Stuttgart area, but also from all corners of Germany. With the growing number of IT experts and engineers from India and south Asia is creating a great opportunity for cricket being spread in the high tech German companies. In the tournaments organized in 2011 and 2012, lot of companies like Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, Prion from Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Ulm, Nürnberg took part in this soft ball game concept. With many of the expats having less time to practice with leather balls or less opportunity to find proper ground for cricket ball are reasons behind making the soft ball tournament more and more popular. Germany’s national men’s team has returned from the World Cricket League Division 7 in Botswana without a win, and with only a solitary point to show for their efforts in six competition games.

Youth training camp at THCC, 22 – 26 Juli 2013

In diesem Sommer findet zum 3. Mal ein Twenty/20 Jugendtrainingscamp auf dem Gelände des THCC Rot-Gelb in Hamburg statt. Wie in letztem Jahr dauert der Camp eine ganze Woche. Einzelheiten sind in dem beigefügten Flyer bzw. Buchungsformular.

Bei einer ausreichenden Anzahl von Buchungen ist es geplant, zwei Gruppen zu bilden – eine für jüngere Spieler mit keiner oder weniger Erfahrung, und eine für Jugendlichen die älter sind oder fortgeschrittener sind. Buchungen und Zahlungen sind ausschliesslich direkt an die Firma Twenty/20 zu richten.
